Fine Arts Museum of Asturias
With over 15,000 works, this museum offers a comprehensive tour through art history from the 14th century to today, with outstanding Spanish and Asturian painting collections.
Highlighted Collections

Church Museum
Located in the Holy Chamber of the Cathedral, it houses the Cathedral Treasure including the Cross of the Angels (9th c.), Victory Cross (10th c.) and Agate Casket (10th c.).
Museum of the Asturian People
In the neighboring municipality of Gijón, it displays Asturian ethnography and traditional culture, with collections of musical instruments, regional costumes, and folk architecture.
Asturian Pre-Romanesque Art UNESCO
Oviedo preserves some of the best examples of Asturian Pre-Romanesque art, declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These 9th-century buildings bear witness to the first Christian kingdom in the peninsula after the Muslim invasion.
Santa María del Naranco
Former recreational palace of Ramiro I, later converted into a church. Noted for its transverse arches and medallions. Located on Mount Naranco’s slopes.
San Miguel de Lillo
Originally had three naves, only part remains. Its lattice windows and wall paintings are exceptional examples of Asturian art. Near Santa María del Naranco.
Foncalada Fountain
The only preserved civil public-use building from European Pre-Romanesque art. Located on Foncalada Street in Oviedo’s old town.

Oviedo has more than 100 outdoor sculptures integrated into its urban landscape:
La Regenta
Tribute to the novel by Leopoldo Alas "Clarín," located in Cathedral Square. Depicts Ana Ozores looking at the cathedral tower.
Mafalda
Statue of the famous character by Quino sitting on a bench in San Francisco Park, a gift from the Argentine embassy.
Woody Allen
Bronze statue of the filmmaker on Milicias Nacionales Street, recognizing his connection to the city and the Princess of Asturias Awards.
Statue Route
The City Council provides a map showing the location of all urban sculptures, offering a cultural walking route through the city. Highlights include "The Traveler" (Eduardo Urculo), "Maternity" (Fernando Botero), and "Tribute to Fleming."
